My little buddy Yuki and I went to the garden this morning.
Yuki loves to "help" anyone working in the garden.
It was foggy in the valley below us this morning.
Looking out over our fence, you'd never know there are fields below, already busy being worked.
I can hear the tractors.
The scented geraniums are moist with dew.
Over a few years, we added to our variety of scented geraniums. We now have rose-lemon-mint-and apple.
Every so often, I prune a bit off of each plant.
I also collect all of the spent rose blossoms, and the tops of the lavender. (we have three varieties of lavender growing).
It all gets tossed into a large brown paper bag, where it all dries out.
After a month or so, there's this amazing mix.
The scent is heavenly.....very soft....flowery, with citron and fruit.
After the mix is dried;
I sew it up into vintage handkerchiefs. The handkerchiefs are not cut, so, they can be reverted to their original state by pulling out stitches, and no damage is done.
The soft scent of the sachet bags last for several weeks. I recommend that they be tucked into drawers and cupboards. Each time you pull open a drawer, there's a lovely waft of smells.
After the natural scent has weakened, the sachets can be sprayed with your own preferred
I also made up a few handmade boxes. The sachets make wonderful gifts.
